The "cold-hearts" are going to Disney World!

Well, this is the official start of my travel blog, travel journal, trip report, random rambling... whatever you want to call it. I feel so blessed that I could have the first official trip on here be with Kristin!
Kristin is a wonderful person that anyone would be blessed to be able to call friend- probably why she has 700+ friends on facebook. To think I was proud when I hit 100 friends! She is one of my oldest & closest friends. I don't get to see her that much, but as soon as we get back together, it's like we never missed a beat. She is the best cold-hearted friend a person could ever want! (inside joke) Well, she's a very busy girl... quite the social butterfly. I knew I wanted to do a Disney trip just me & her, but I knew working with her social calendar may prove to be a little difficult. The solution. Book the trip as a christmas gift & not even give her the choice of going or not. It worked! See that's what you have to do. Don't even give your loved ones options, just force them into things. That's not really how it all came to be... okay so maybe it is, but I'll now write the less manipulative sounding version. When I came up with the idea of just Kristin & I going to Disney World I didn't want to bring it up to Kristin & get her hopes up & then have it not be able to happen. So I went to Sue, her mom, to ask when Krsitin would be getting home from college and if the trip would be an option. Sue gave me the dates & said it was a go on their end. Next I had to call & find out if there was even any resort availability at one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts. Luckily there was, so I booked it. This all happened around Christmas time, so I decided that I would make the big reveal to Kristin as part of her Christmas present. I went through a lot of ideas but finally decided that I would give her a Disney World gift card for Christmas. That wasn't good enough though. I didn't want to just put the gift card in a Christmas card. So I ordered a pair of Mickey ears with her name stitched on them. I placed the ears in a box with the gift card underneath. It worked beautifully. I will take the time, since I didn't do it then, to tease Kristin on how slooooooow she is. It was funny to watch her open the gift & slowly register what it was all about. So that is how this trip came to be. Now for some of the details...

Kristin & I will be going to Disney World May 10th - 17th, 2010. As of now we're staying at my favorite Disney Vacation Club Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Resort.  All two of us are booked in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa, complete with living room, kitchen, laundry room & whirlpool tub! Have I mentioned I love being a DVC (disney vacation club) member??

I say as of now because I have us on the wait-list to stay at Disney's Beach Club Resort. This is one of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts I have not stayed at yet & it has the COOLEST pool. It's right across the lake from the Boardwalk, so we'll still have the great location, but the addition of a really cool pool. So I'm hoping we'll get moved to the Beach Club, but if we don't we'll be "stuck" at my favorite resort in a two bedroom villa... poor us. While we're there we'll get to see Epcot's International Flower & Garden Festival. This will be my first time visiting during the Flower & Garden Festival. I've seen many pictures of it, so it's something I'm looking forward to seeing in person.

We'll that was just a quick run down of things. I will be posting more details as the trip gets closer. Make sure you click to "follow" my blog on the right-hand side, so that you can get up-to-the-minute updates about our trip. 'Cause I know you all are on the edge of your seats waiting for the next update. :)
